Les Alpilles - the Little Alps - are a range of lazy, herb scented hills, of olive and pine, asparagus, truffles and garlic. Delightful villages look out across vineyards which produce some of the finest wines of southern France. We spend ten days walking through lavender and Mediterranean garrigue, stopping en route to taste at some of the best wineries. Our hotels add variety to the holiday as well as allowing time to explore the stunning countryside that Van Gogh and Cézanne immortalised in their paintings. Restaurant food offers us the best of local delicacies, whilst picnics amidst the herbs are memorable. This holiday offers peaceful days and exercise in the open countryside balanced with visits to Arles and cultural sites of interest.
