Accommodation: In the Medoc our favourite hotel is the Pavillon de Margaux, a small hotel overlooking the vineyards of Ch Margaux and Ch Rausan Segla. The rooms are deilghtful, the service and ambience excellent, and the kitchen superb. In St Emilion our usual choice is the 4* Hostellerie de Plaisance in the centre of the village. Once again the hotel has lovely rooms and a peaceful atmosphere, as well as an excellent cuisine and wine cellar.

This unguided holiday is an ideal short wine break in the Bordeaux region. It allows time to combine a little of the Medoc with the pretty village of St Emilion and the surrounding Libournaise vineyards of Pomerol etc.
